I wish our nanny wound not get us anything. We have so much stuff in the house as it is and I really feel bad about not displaying her gifts. When I say, "You shouldn't have!" I mean it.

I wish our nanny wouldn’t give us gifts but she says we give her gifts so she wants to reciprocate. She doesn’t get the “gift flows downward” convention. So I just take it and say thank you.

This is the only thing I would ever give my boss - charity donation gift cards. Especially the ones geared to children. If you feel you must give a gift, this is the only one I would feel comfortable receiving.
