It all depends on them. But if you worked hard for them and didn't have any bad record, I assume they will give something for you. It may not be in the form of monetary.

I ended up quitting my nanny job because I got pregnant and it was really hard for me to pick up the 2 y.o. I wasn't expecting a parting gift because I quit. But the family was very generous when I worked there. I was able to help myself to whatever was in the kitchen/pantry. Was paid more for evenings/date nights in cash. And received extra cash/bonus for Christmas and she bought me some baby clothes, gave me some of her maternity clothes and some baby supplies. However I did get more money to my final paycheck.


I agree with many of the posters. Very petty and lowclass you are expecting a gift.
