Of course...before I put my child in daycare, I interviewed several places and asked all sorts of questions. Then I got on several waiting lists and continued to learn more about the centers we were considering. Do you think people just see a sign that says "daycare" and throw the baby out of a slowly moving car?

No, PP - it is not about the "help's kid" since I am the daughter of a hotel maid and worked as "the help" (cleaning houses) all though college. I just understand that it is an evolutionary imperative that mothers favor their own off-spring. I have felt second best a lot in my life for other reasons so I certainly don't want my child to feel that way in his own house.

First, I am not sure what you are asking since your post was so poorly written.

Second, posters are suggesting actual daycare centers - like Bright Horizons - where your own child is not in the same room where you work. In-home daycare, of course, allows this - but as an MB, I would not send my child to a in-home daycare where the daycare provided had a child in attendance either.

I agree that we are all programmed to favor our own off-spring. If I wanted my children to grow up feeling second best, I would have a nanny who brought her won child to work or send my children to a daycare where the daycare owner/worker had their own child there.
