Um, a single mom with 2 olDer children should be able to keep a clean home. My mom did it with THREE kids and 2 jobs. We had chores and everybody was responsible for putting away what we took out. Keeping a clean home is very simple.

Same here. Single mom working one full time and one part time job while taking as many classes per semester as she could. Some days she left at 3 am, some days she got back at 10 pm. Either way, kids had chores and she filled everything else in as she could.

I have zero understanding of how so many families brush it off and say that it's just not possible, they're too busy to put away groceries or clean up feces. Ok, so dusting might not be done for a week or two and tubs might be longer, that's different.
