This whole story is weird. She left the front door wide open in a violent neighborhood (after throwing her items all over the floor) to scale a giant fence with a toddler and play with poultry that are living in the backyard?

OP you should move first of all. Why are you exposing your child to a place you admit has "prevalent violent crime"? So you can have a shorter commute? Disgusting....
