My DD loves the grocery store and she and her nanny like to cook. However, it is not part of her duties and I never request it. It's just a pleasant surprise when she does.

I'm a single mom, so anything our nanny does for us outside of childcare is met with gratitude and appreciation.

You sound like a good parent and employer.

We have (rarely) asked our nanny to stop and pick up milk. She has about 5-6 kid-free, paid hours per week so she might do this when she is kid-free, or she might bring one kid with her.

I like to do the grocery shopping since I do most of the cooking. I take my kids w me regularly but if I can go alone it's easier.

It's not something I would ask or expect our nanny to do routinely with or without kids without a renegotiation.
