So, my question is really would you terminate for this or no? I need to be prepared because I know how the conversation will go.

When she wanted a month off. I said we only give you two weeks paid and I cannot give you more. She said well, I'm taking a month and if you don't like it find someone else. We debated letting her go but it was a stressful time. We caved and gave her two extra weeks unpaid and hired someone for the gap.

I will tell you this, if that is her attitude you MUST replace her ASAP. An employer/employee relationship can not exist if one person is not in total control. This woman sounds like she is not cut out to take commands from someone else, so you really should put all your efforts into finding a new employee.

Yes, they believe it because they can. Just like my boss can "control" me.

Try this, "Spend any time with your boyfriend when you are working and you will be fired".

Grow up, Girls. Employers can request what ever they want (that is legal) when you are on their dime.

no, OP sounds like a very much normal parent who find concerning that her toddler girl may spend time with a stranger man. The nanny is paid to watch the child, she can have adult conversations with other nannies at the playground or on playdates. meeting her boyfriend during working hours, especially without the parent's prior knowledge and consent (OP found out from her child) is not acceptable. otherwise she can find another job where she has a lunch hour to spend as she wants.
