They are already earning things and I don't give them everything. I already tell them no to things hourly. They work for an allowance now. They will get jobs when they are 16 or sooner. I'm going to make them pay at least part of their education (make them have skin in the game). we'll take out student loans (which I'll pay off if they graduate and do well). I'l incentivize them for getting A's.
That's the American dream. Hard work and perseverance yields success and happiness.

as a working mom of 4, I'm working my a** off to save a ton of money so I can pay for 4 ivy league or similar educations, so hopefully I'm creating productive members of society who may someday rule the world or save the world. Ambitious goals I know. I didn't intend to have 4 kids, but I had surprise twins, and I intend to give them all the opportunities I possibly can. I know it can work, because my working mom worked her a** off to do the same for me.

You just might live to regret giving it all to your kids. When do you suppose they should start EARNING things? The day after college graduation? GL with that.
