PS I dont take my charges out dirty - ever. Especially with dirty hair. I have taken a bath every single day of my life since birth and my skin is lovely.
Here's one more thought to share with MB.... Because people phone video, youtube upload and report things based on what they see, someone may report the child as being abused based on his unclean appearance. This could potentially become an unpleasant experience for MB/nanny if approached by CPS. Sometimes that service dysfunctions, and children get wrongfully removed from their loving homes the facts are misunderstood. Then see what your MB wants to do. The PP suggestion of asking her if you can start nighttime bath and she finished up sounds good. Both needs get met..MBs desire to mommy more & baby gets daily bath. Hopefully it can be worked out.
If you think DCFS is going to intervene because a kid looks a little dirty you are living in a fantasy world. They are too busy taking care of children living with REAL problems like hunger and abuse, not greasy hair.
Christ, the first world privilege here would be disgusting if it weren't so comical.
+1, not to mention the fact that no matter how you phrase it, suggesting to a mother that the way she raises her child is likely to get CPS called in on her is a good way to get fired.
Hey - do you prior two posters want to meet for coffee? I think we'd get along!![]()
Ooohhhh , you're right. Because you just never hear of this very thing happening.Guess you haven't heard, but they STILL open a case based on a report, call, and now there's video. Maybe you should sit in on some CPS / child advocate cases where parents loose their kids, who shouldn't. And parents who harmed their child, didn't. Fantasy? Comical? Not so much.

I AM a legal advocate for CINA cases (child in need of assistance) where CPS is involved because of abuse or neglect. There is zero chance of an allegation of abuse as demonstrated by a parent bathing a child every few days being investigated anywhere in this country. There are actions that can be taken for filing needless/fraudulent/vindictive/baseless claims.
Sadly there is no available penalty for stupidity.

The biological processes that happens daily for all humans, calls for daily bathing. Babies get dirty every single day in that same way, in addition to feedings, pooping, playing, food in hair, etc. Barring living where water is a scarcity , give the child a daily bath. Remember, babies float in amniotic fluid for nine months. Do they come out looking dried out, or soft, silky skin. And our bodies have oil glands that remoisturize the skin.
Give you an example: In the 1600s, people only bathed once a year for the same false reason. Annual bath time was towards May's end. So those planning to marry around that time would plan a June wedding while they were still "relatively" fresh. And this is the where and why of the practice of being a "June bride" originated. Soooo people ran around smelling to high heaven, and diseases/deaths connected to uncleaness were rampant.
This is hilariously ill-informed.
+1 The best way to be wrong is to be REALLY wrong and also REALLY condescending about it. Thanks for the laugh!
