I am the PP and just want to clarify that this is not the norm in this area. Not every nanny make $25/h so don't go expecting to get that. My family is a high profile one.

DMV, 30 yo with 10 years of experience. Last job was PT 20 hours a week with 2 kids for $22/hour. Now I am on a FT 40 hours a week, twins And I get $25/hour. No other responsability other than care for the babies with mom mostly around to help out.

I wouldn't call her an idiot, but she could probably learn to market herself better. She has solid nanny experience and a Master's degree, assuming she has no underlying issues she could find a similar position or an even better one with equal or better benefits, be making more, and also like the family.

I'm in my 30's, I have a masters degree in early childhood education. I've been a nanny for 15 years. Yes I am here legally.. I am a 6th generation American. I have not been with this family very long. My plan is to stay as long as I am needed.

No. and I am happy with the job. Of course getting paid more would be wonderful but 700 a week is a lot of money to me. With my last job I made 400. Of course I wasn't working 24 hrs per day.

I'm sorry, but you are an idiot. I have a very similar background (Master's Degree, 13 years nanny experience, etc.) and I made $500/day as a 24 hour live in nanny, so just over $100k for the year. I worked 4 days a week and also had an apartment provided on my days off. Providing 24 hour care is exhausting and many people burn out. You should at least be getting something worthwhile in exchange for giving up so much of your time.

I did it for 2 years and completely paid off my student loans and then saved up enough for a 30% down payment on a house.

$870/week, 45 hours. 2 toddler share, started when they were infants. No housekeeping, I'm allowed to use nap time to do school work, and the families are down to earth and very kind. I could certainly make more, but I'm happy with what I'm making, and knowing that I work for nice people who treat me well.

Nanny Here in San Diego CA.

Paid $12/Hr. About 50 Hrs./Mo.

Caring for a toddler. Strictly childcare. No housework whatsoever except of course, washing any dishes used and picking up any toys played with while I am there.

No driving required.

I think I could make more, but I love the chemistry I have with this family, I have worked with many families that have had worse chemistry and made better money so sometimes you have to give and take. Plus, I NEED this job. And I get to nap when the little boy naps too.
