Once in awhile it means that I happen to see the nanny (when I use it for the former purpose, obviously), but it's not what I'm looking for. The footage isn't saved at all beyond 30 minutes, it's just a livestream where you can rewind up to 30 minutes back. The nanny knows about it (the camera is totally visible and looks like a camera) and even how to access it (so that she can use it for the latter purpose, if she likes), but doesn't seem to mind.

I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think they are accusing you etc. if you feel that way just ask them why?
I installed them because I had a horrible childhood experience with babysitters and deep deep down I have issues. Now, we love you and appreciate everything you do and consider you family and wouldn't want anybody else but you with our precious little one. It's more for me, to turn on in the middle of the day during my break and see how happy my little one is with you. It gives me peace. It also makes me appreciate you that much more!
I hope you understand and someday if and when you want or have kids, I hope you'll understand that much more.
Again thanks for all that you do!![]()

They are a key part of the security system. They won't be turned off. Ever.
they are secure.
The footage doesn't hang around forever. 60 days max unless I choose save a specific clip. Which I have never done.
I do occasionally tune in to see my son. Because I miss him while I am away. Usually only on an overnight trip.
Nanny is aware of the cameras. Knows I look in on occasion.
If you would quit bc cameras are installed I susoect you are not quite doing your job.
Many jobs have cameras on employees all day long. Why not yours?

Anonymous wrote:I wouldn't hire a nanny without cameras because I personally know someone whose nanny was abusing the children (is now in jail). I would also not use a daycare without cameras. Just can't take the risk. If someone is not ok with live feed cameras, I would not hire them. What do they have to hide?

I wonder if my bosses would show it to their friends and family members without telling me about it or maybe they didn't even feel the need to tell me about it and that would not sit well with me.
Because once you are captured on celluloid, it is permanent. Not that you are doing anything illicit, but still...You are on film and there is tangible footage of you for God knows who to watch. Maybe your boss's husband or his friends or whoever watches you and masturbates at just your image...??! How can you ever be sure??
And where does the liability factor weigh in here??
Yikes. What if the father catches you changing your top after his child vomits on you? Put in the contract the parents will be held accountable for any inappropriate use of video recordings of you. There have been local news reports of the father employers watching the au pairs undress every night on the video. One au pair found the camera, ripped it out and took it straight to the police station...
