I think it depends on what happens with your FT family. If your income is cut for the second month because she didn't honor your contract then I think you should ask. If your FT family is going to make up the difference or find another family for the share then I would probably let it go. That's just me though, I'm sure some people would say you should make them honor the contract just for the principle of it but I am a big proponent of picking your battles.

If the family giving notice shares with another family, it matters what the other family wants to do and how they intend to proceed.

The reason it makes a difference is because if you ONLY had 1 job where you worked 2-3 days a week then it's more important to have more notice. If you have a full time job already PLUS this other one that is a share on the days you work for both families that is a different story. I don't know what your arrangement is but presumably your full-time family pays you a different rate on your share days than on your not share days. If there is no longer a share then they should pay you their non-share rate every day. Therefore it is not as big a deal if your part-time MB only gives you 1 month notice rather than 2. Of course, your contract says 2 months and that's up to you if you want to pursue it but since you are asking for advice, it makes a difference if you still have a full-time job.
