You sound like the really nasty poster. You just have no idea what kind of crap some nannies think they have to put up with. I hope you aren't one of those nasty abusive parents. That would be super horrible if you are. Why would anyone want to be so mean to the person helping you raise your child?

Reading is fundamental. Who said nannies don't put with crap? Who said I was a parent? How exactly was I mean to the person who cares for the child you think I have?

All I did was call out the OP for the troll she is. Attentive posters should know when they are wasting time thinking about fake problems from trouble seeking posters.

ETA: The Duggars follow a child rearing book that recommends hitting babies with a wooden spoon when they try to crawl off their blankets. I suppose you would feel a need to physically abuse a baby when you have 15+ other kids to keep an eye on, but I can't say it's in any way acceptable.

It's because some, not all, mb's are angry when they find out they can't have it all. And they take it out on the nanny, sometimes on the husband, too. Whoever they think might put up with them. Hopefully, she doesn't take it out on the children.

These poor women were lied to, and they were so entitled to believe it. No one has it all, ladies. No one. Not at the same time, at least. If you want an 'uninterrupted' office career, you give up your opportunity to be the full time caregiver of your young child.

+1 I have no clue who the Diggers are either. But no one needs to make up stories to make MBs look bad. Truth is stranger than fiction.

Is there one parent who is less neurotic about this than the other? One thing you could do is just tell them you are unable to keep him on the blanket. Babies this age just move too much to stay in one spot. Speaking with the parent who is more able to listen to reason might help them to explain it to the one who is more out there.

I had to do this a while back. I worked for a nice family who wanted their son (under 1 y.o.) to give up his morning nap. The dad told me to just keep him awake even if he's tired. I knew he wasn't ready, but I tried to follow what they told me. Well, it just didn't work. His eyes would get droopy, and he even fell asleep in his high chair. I actually saw how unsafe ot was because he was crusing at this time. After a few days, I told the mom, "I just can't keep him awake in the morning. He just gets too sleepy.". She understood. I let her talk to the dad.

I hope op comes and gives us an update.

The premise is untrue. Those women on DCUM main forum may have been more helpful to this nanny in this incidence but most of them are beyond hateful. Go there now and read how a tutor with a masters degree and 20 years of teaching experience and the parents who would ever hire her are getting blasted.

And another thread where all nannies are lazy Filapino women who are on their cell phones while their charges play on the park.

You mean the $80/hr tutor for a four year old?
