Even if someone made a poor decision about a tattoo the logic just does not add up. Are you suggesting a parent with a tattoo should have their kids put into the foster-care system because they must also be bad parents? Your idea that decisions about adorning your body are somehow correlated to your childcare ability would lead to thousands of people being unfit parents, grandparents, and care providers.

Multiple posts on this thread have attempted to do just that, and they have been completely ignored because a lot of people with your opinion are not interested in facts or education, they are too married to their opinion. I have already stated that it'd be near impossible for a baby to grab my piercing, and that I wear one during the week that is so small that most don't even notice it. I have it because I think it's pretty, its pretty unobtrusive, and I know it will close if I decide I no longer want it. I have a relatively visible tattoo on my upper back and neck that I designed myself (I am also an artist) and it was inspired by the abuse that I endured as a child. I was emancipated at 16, and decided I wanted the tattoo around then. I made the design and mulled it over for 2 years. Once I reached a point of stability, and could afford it, I had the tattoo done. Yes there are people who make thoughtless decisions about piercings and tattoos, but the same could be said about all aspects of life couldn't it? It seems like a silly reason to judge the entire population. My tattoo means a great deal to me and it always will. It's also much prettier than the emotional scars, which will also always be with me unfortunately.
