You can't sue someone just because you want to. She tripped taking out the trash. Something they didn't ask her to do and through no negligence on their part. You can only sue if they were negligent in some way, ie snow they didn't clear or broken pavement. OP was just clumsy and tripped.
OP, I'm really sorry you were let go. That really sucks but please ignore the stupid posters like the one above who would have you waste your money on a lawyer and court fees for a case you can't possibly win.
