I'm in a long distance relationship as well and it's been very hard. Today, a lot of people have to move for work and will do long-distance for a job. I attribute this to the economic crisis and the ultra competitive job market. Wishing you well OP.

Ignore this comment. Don't assume that infidelity will occur because of your physical separation. Most long distance marriages do not have to deal with this heartache because of the love and commitment the spouses feel for one another.

I think it's romantic what you're doing. You're smart to save money since your husband is not making much right now. Take it from me — someone who used to be in a long distance relationship while my husband was finishing his PhD- ignore that comment! 6 months sounds like a reasonable amount of time. Save aggressively and best of luck to you.
