You know you van work for 25 hours/wk on a student visa, right? Go find a job with fewer hours and higher pay, and rent yourself a room in a group house near campus.

OP again- My salary is $150/week which I know is low but I am only in the US for my education and to try to make a better life when I graduate. I'm not wanting the money to go shopping or anything, I'm really saving almost everything I can towards my books.

OP here- Thank you for the support. I'm a live in nanny (I'm in a seperate apt over the garage) and don't have any family in the area, my family is 7000 miles away and no I am not legal here in the US. I am here on a student visa but school is so expensive I need a job to help pay for books. My family pays my tuition but living in the US is so expensive I couldn't finish my last year without a job that provides housing. I work 40hrs a week plus go to school full time, except now I will be off for the summer. But I need this job to buy books next semester, so I really am quite desperate and my Boss knows this. It just makes me sad that there is really nothing I can do.

I hope you can find singeing fast so you can tell her to suck it the morning of the wedding. Try looking for a couple of part time jobs. They tend to be easier to find and the moms are usually lower maintenance..

That stinks. I'm an MB and I can't imagine behaving this way.

Wow. What a terrible employer! Start looking immediately, and leave her with minimal notice asap.

I'm sorry your MB is bullying you into traveling with them for the wedding. I would say don't allow her to do it by standing firm and making her fire you, but it doesn't sound like you're in a position to do that. If you do go that route you have a paper trail via the emails to document what led up to your dismissal should you need it to fight for unemployment.

It sucks that you have to decide which is more important...your personal plans or your job. It's clear that you need to start looking for a new job...and at this point any job that can bridge you until you find a new nanny position with a family who treats you with respect.

I know what I would do in your position, but I get that not everyone has stuff to fall back on. Good luck. I hope you're able to get out of that terrible job soon.

Today at work MB told me that if I didn't travel with them, they were going to hire a temp and start interviewing for my replacement. This is really awful, now I feel like maybe I shouldn't have said anything because it took a long time to find this job. I hate that this family has me in this position, I need to start looking for a new job. But until then, I guess I'm going to the wedding
