I do feel that anyone video taping another human being should inform that person he or she is on camera. what if I didn't know, and I decided to change my shirt or scratch my ass!

I mean in the average household, that is. Full security systems with many cameras indoors and out (all the bells and whistles) are very expensive. They definitely need to be paid the full cost for this type of equipment. Any smoke detector that has an actual camera in it would not be cheap, especially since the camera would have to be so small.

Alarm companies do not generally install cameras, they might install alarm motion sensors if the family wants them installed. ADT does NOT install anything, especially something like a camera, that the family doesn't pay to have installed. They make you pay for everything they install, it is not a "here, we will install this equipment and if you want to use it then we will enable/activate it". I had a previous DB that worked for ADT so I know what I am talking about.
