For an employer to not permit ANY outside activity, especially for a 12-HR shift is just outrageous in my opinion.

A good employer will want what is best for their employee as well as want to ensure that said employee is comfortable + thriving when caring for their precious child.

A cooped up Nanny will not be a happy or productive Nanny and that will definitely affect the care that they will be providing.

This family obviously does not prioritize their Nanny’s well-being (as well as their baby’s!), so I would not even consider this position.
I would continue my search until I found a family that did.

I am not keep looking , there are many other families who are interested in hiring me. Their offer was good but expection is not realistic. During 12 hours shift I am not allow to go outside.

OP, if you have many other families who want to hire you, then don't take this job. It's really, really, REALLY, easy.

You might not, but there are plenty of nannies who completely distracted at the park and clear they are there for their personal socialization. The number of times a kid with no supervision joined my kids and I couldn't find who they belonged to until they walked me up to the nannies gathering on the bench. And don't even mention the times I was at the traffic light seeing a nanny distracted on the phone trying to push a stroller with one hand.

Obviously not all nannies are like this, but there are plenty who are.

The main problem is that there is no supervision for a nanny's job, and that by itself is troublesome. No matter how good the nanny, the only time they can be accountable is when something happens that the parents can see a physical evidence of. Nannies are humans, and no matter how good the nanny there are still some that would make a mistake or get distracted. Imagine nurses or any other profession having no supervision and expected the employer to regard their social life while hiring.

So much assumption on here. It’s either baby stays indoors all day or baby ends up Going grocery shopping and running errands every day.
Does no one just go for a walk for the fresh air and exercise? Who cares if you meet up with another Nanny to do that? When I had my DD used to meet friends to walk with. I’d have no issue with a caregiver doing the same.

Bingo! So you want to take their precious 6 months around while they pay you, so you can do your personal grocery shopping and hang out with your friends?!

There is EVERYTHING wrong with you taking their child out for any activity that does not benefit their child directly as they see fit. and to do it while they pay you?!!

Holy cow … I would never take a 60hour /week job for $20. That’s insane. The mom is not ready to let her child being watched by someone new. She wants the baby home so she can control the nanny. Red flag. And there is nothing wrong with taking a kid to the grocery store for quick stop or meet at the playground/go for a walk with other nannies.

You have the opportunity to work 60 hours a week, 20 hours of which is paid overtime with ... a 6 month old that sleeps most of the day.

At $20/hr that's $73k income.
At $25/hr that's $91k income

You're still complaining that you can't hang out with your friends during?!

Those parents got lucky no hiring you!

The baby will be with me 8 in the morning til 8 in evening .
When they will take him out ?

With me, it would be OK if the pay and all the rest are great. This could simply mean that as new parents they do not trust you while out of sight, but once they know you more, and more comfortable with your judgement, they may change their mind. Right now, they want the baby to be near them just in case.
