So sorry you are dealing w/this OP.
This family should have been upfront w/you about their son.
They probably knew that if they disclosed how he was that he would not have been accepted into the share which I find despicable.
So since they failed to disclose how their son was to you from the get-go, then they do not deserve to be given a two-wk notice period that you will no longer be caring for their child.
Yes - it WILL be uncomfortable + awkward letting them know that you will no longer be caring for their child but knowing that your host family stands behind you may make telling them a bit easier.

Im so sorry to hear that you were faced with this situation.
Im very glad to hear that you stood up and not only advocated for what was right but advocated for the best care to be given to such a child. You stood your ground and made the hard decision.
For future, I would encourage you to let the parents search for a good match, take that responsibility off of yourself. This way if their are issues, the parents break the agreement and compensate you accordingly for the drop in pay by raising your pay until a new match is found.
For parents that are reading this, i encourage you to plan play dates for your potential nanny shares that are of age, and if they are infants, plan an outing with your potential nanny share family and kind of get a feel on them before moving into a permanent contract.
