I’m sorry they let you go with no notice, OP. That sounds rough. My guess is that they were already about to fire you and didn’t want to have to give you a bunch of expensive gear that could otherwise make them money when you would be gone soon anyway.

It sounds like you really couldn’t keep up with the job at this point in your pregnancy, and while it would have been better if they had given you notice, I would also be concerned if my nanny didn’t know my toddler was using the bathroom. I have a charge who is almost 3 and I basically have eyes on him at all times. If I am cooking dinner or something he is still in the same room.

OP didn't pick up toys in THREE rooms. She had no idea that a toddler/preschool age child used the bathroom, so didn't clean out the potty. Sorry, but the two together mean that OP is clearly not doing her job, therefore she should definitely be fired.

An employer (supposedly) offered baby things to OP; given subsequent lines of the post, I believe that OP asked for the baby items. OP was told that the employer was selling the items. OP had the audacity to not only ask for a stroller and then reject it because it wasn't good enough for her, she then asked for bottles and other paraphernalia. Absolutely ridiculous.

If you are in low economic straits, try the NW Pregnancy Center or the Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center. They are faith based and have lots of giveaways (once you complete intake).

You don't ask your employer for stuff. Tacky. A bob is an expensive stroller and can be adapted to use with an infant seat. She's asking or expensive items and should pay for them.

The mom initially offered her certain items and then went back on her word and said she decided to sell them. It’s right there in the original post but you conveniently skipped over that.

I've sold plenty of my used crap and gotten a good price. I only offer if I cannot sell or actually want to give it to someone. If someone asked me in this situation, I'd find it uncomfortable.

But, OP said she wasn't doing a good job at work.
