Raises should also be based on performance. Our nanny is going to have to start showing up and engaging with our kids a little more if she expects any raise. There have been too many sick days and too little initiative. We're debating whether to a) fire her; b) put up with her current unsatisfactory performance with no raise and hope she leaves. Only if she improves will we consider a generous raise at the end of her contract.

Should be cost of living raise. Inflation was 7% this year. Give nanny 7% raise. If nanny had increased duties then give the nanny even higher raise. Food costs increased and did rent and so on...

PP, so how do you get coverage? All health insurance now is mostly through healthcare.gov. They sell hundreds of plans, same BCBS, Aethna, KP as most people have through employment.

I also tried the healthcare exchange but not good coverage so my employer pays me full premium ($521 monthly), it works for some people but not for all.

$2 is good. $1 per hr is not a thing anymore because of high inflation.

Healthcare echange buyer here. It covers same things any private indurance would cover. You can make about 65k a year after all deductions. I take retirement deductions and some othe ones, and qualify for great subsidy. My emploer reimburses some, but when i file taxes i still get a refund for most of the premium. I buy silver plan, covers everything.
