I was wearing a mask at every care date including my regular family - I have a part time 32 hour nanny position, plus provide ad-hoc care for about 20 other families - up until March of this year, where I now just mask in a few families' homes that prefer it, including one where the little guy is currently going through chemo treatments. I absolutely understand and don't take it in any wrong way.
So you were in close contact with up to 21 households? I wouldn't call that Covid-safe.
+1

It is only reliable for person with symptoms, and single tests does nothing, it needs to be re-taken within 24 hrs to confirm a negative test. So, in your case, it is placebo - it just makes you feel safer but it does not in fact make you safer.

Anonymous wrote:you mean you do PCR in the lobby? Because if it's just rapid antigen then you are being silly. That test only works if person has symptoms, and even then you need to do it twice, and I assume no one in their right mind would come to work with the baby while having any symptoms of cold, so you are just wasting tests.

Yes, we mask around our current childcare provider as well. I also have to wear a mask for my 12 hour ICU shifts.
You probably put someone at more risk given your profession.
Anonymous wrote:Of course you can find someone! Our mother’s helper is triple backed and had Covid and is willing to mask. Our nanny is vaxxed and double boosted, wears a mask in public, is fanatical about hand washing, and has worn a mask all day with the kids when she had a cold.

I also would agree to testing frequently.
However if I had to work more than say…..four hours, I likely would not want to wear a mask the entire shift.
There may be Nannies who would + that is good - however if I am vaccinated & boosted, it would just be a pain to have to wear a mask for a long shift.
However this is just MY personal preference.[/quote
I agree!
