Wake up and smell the coffee. They don't come to America because they "love kids".
They want the experience of traveling, seeing the USA etc and probably meet a husband.

It doesn't mean they won't be good au pairs...but at some point you have to understand they don't come for the sole purpose of childcare.
If that's what a family wants they should get a professional nanny.

this. i would pay for a hotel for the last 4 days and would want her out of my house ASAP. she hit a child in front of you, was not remorseful, mody for housrs, took off with the car without even saying anything and when comes back slams door? just out.

Good luck this week- you can do it! I wouldn't have her watch your kids again but I would also throw the farewell dinner and try to make the transition of her leaving the best scenario for your kids.I know I feel that we kept our current au pair much longer than we would have due to covid. As much as she was a blessing, it has been very difficult with personalities in our house too. Just a few more days!
