I would absolutely quit, OP, regardless of what the mother says. They clearly think it’s okay for the aunt and uncle to tell you what to do.
OP here,
I had a 4:30pm appointment to speak to the mom and she cancelled last minute. I think she knows what's happening at home and looking to avoid the conversation. I will send her a formal email with my notice attached. Today was unbearable and I refused to work in a toxic household. The aunt and uncle basically are all over myself and baby. Giving out advice and following me around the whole day. For example, I was reading nap time storytime to the baby and the aunt told me, I am giving the baby too much attention. He needs to be strong and independent. Let him sooth himself to sleep without any distractions. I am truly over it. I told her please don't speak to me.
Why the f are the aunt and uncle there and why do they think they are any right to tell you anything?
Quit now, OP. I feel so bad for that poor baby but there is nothing you can do.

Further, why are the aunt and uncle even there. At least you can quit now and walk out knowing the nosy aunt and uncle can do backup care.

What is your reaction when you are told not to kiss baby at all.
No exceptions. Will you take the job or if you are working already,. Reason to quit? What's the fear behind this weird request? Definitely not on the lips.
Just feet's and head.

I’ve never run into this, because I never started kissing other people’s children.
Anonymous wrote:No need to kiss the baby. I adore my charges but don’t kiss them. I kiss my own children.

You’re weird. It’s done all the time by caregivers and teachers not to mention relatives and family friends. It’s how mammals show affection and important for the baby to feel loved and safe.
No, teachers aren’t kissing their students.
