OP Here ~
Thank you for the great advice. I truly appreciate it.
I actually quit last week.

I had asked for more money per hour (you guys were right - $15/HR for three young children was not enough!) & after initially agreeing on paying me more, my MB then proceeded to tell me that w/the new, updated Nanny rate that add’l household duties would be given.

That was the final straw for me.

OP why are you working for $15/hour. A year ago that would still have been an incredibly low wage.

I have cared for multiple children for less than a fair wage & always have gone above and beyond my basic duties in order to make the parent’s lives easier.
I love my charges and spent around $35 each to get them what they wanted for the holidays.

In return ~ I received nothing.
No personal Xmas gift or even a bonus.

I KNOW that these are all optional perks of what I do + are definitely not required.
I do not feel entitled yet admit I feel a little under appreciated by the lack of gesture.

How do I get over feeling disappointed??
Due to the already low pay scale ($15/HR for three kids), my family and friends are telling me not to return.
The family is on vacation visiting family out of state until 1/09 of next year.
They are encouraging me to give them three-week notice NOW and look for a new family.

Should I??!

Girl, did you just say $15/h for 3 kids? I know you must be joking.

Leave. That's the only advise that i am going to give you and that you actually need. Leave.

No employer is obligated to get you a gift or a bonus. Most jobs don't give gifts or bonuses. If you want a new job, start looking.
