I don't think this is true. I haven't looked very far into it, but it looks to me that this change on Venmo is only for transactions tagged as payments received for goods and services transactions.

Agree with above. They do no have the money and this will keep going on until you will never get your money. Get you pay in cash and give notice as soon as you havr a new position.

In order to continue watching their child, you need to be paid in cash for the back weeks. You can not support your family on her word alone that she has money.
I think it's cruel during the holidays for her to treat your salary as an afterthought.

Ok, it sounds like you have documentation that the first check didn’t go through, then that she hasn’t paid the second week at all. All conversations must be text or email, unless you have a recorder turned on to tape a phone call (do not notify her, none of the local states require both parties to know).

Text her this morning and let her know that you will be at work on time. If she has your payment, you will work. If not, she’s already had two weeks to figure out payment and you will see her in court.

THIS IS FALSE. Maryland is a two-party consent state as are ten others.

Implied consent is all that is required. If you have her on speaker phone and she can hear others in the background, there is no expectation of privacy.

Yes, starting 1/01/2022 unfortunately.
