I keep my own snacks, coffee, sugar, milk in a separate area.
The family is welcome to use but I never help myself. I always use my food allergies as my excuse as reasons why I don't eat their food. They didn't offer food or drinks the first day. I got the message loud and clear.

Also, inspired by this thread, I just made my kid a toasted bagel with butter and honey and it happens to be honey his former nanny brought us from her country.

Consuming a $12 jar of anything over a period of weeks is reasonable. Consuming a jar a day would not be. But she didn't even consume the entire jar, she just had some of the honey. So it does sound to me like they are restricting food, very severely in my opinion.

Why are you giving the child so much honey? A child doesn't need honey in a smoothie AND honey toast - whatever that is. You're giving the child a bunch of carbs and sugar.
Why didn't you say anything when they took your food, tossed your food, or put your food in the fridge?

Your story keeps changing - you said you made honey toast for yourself in the first post, now you're saying you make it for the child.

This posting it's very interesting. Nanny here. I just started a Full time position a couple of months ago. I can say this family is very nice; the only little thing its that it's been almost 6 months working for them, and they never have told me anything " help yourself with some snack or food you like in our house". Ohh yeah... I just remember. The only think they have offered me is coffe. So I always bring my snacks and lunch from home.

Restricting the person who literally has the lives of my children in their hands? I can't fathom doing it even if I were from a totally different/reserved culture. It seems crazy to me.
