I'm the poster at 10/06/2021. We have been waiting for au pair from Germany since October 2020. Our update is she had a visa appointment in Octoberand embassy/consulate has her passport and were told 11/8 would be the earliest possible date she could get visa. Anyone know is visas are being issued from Germany and if so how long it is taking form appointment??

Friends had an au pair from Germany come a couple of weeks ago, they’d been waiting since spring. I expect it’s a bit of luck when they can get an appointment now but they are being processed.

Does anyone have an insight into how embassies are processing the backlog. We have been waiting since spring of 2020 (au pair was supposed to arrive Oct 2020). Au pair is in Germany.

Hopefully good news for au pair program.

Yes! We are excited for our au pair to join us this spring - we pushed her start date out. Hopefully we have a better signal on visas here soon. The backlog is real.
