Your version of "covid science," apparently. It's explicitly against what Fauci recommended. I think you have outed yourself though, because you have lost several au pairs during the pandemic - also b/c you didn't buy them enough food, cold weather gear. I would invest heavily ($500-$600) + my time to give her more driving lessons, to get her to drive.
Even if I do not need a driver (which we do not), her being able to drive to meet friends (outside,
Socially distanced) is critical for her mental health / happiness (IMO).
We do not allow our Au pair to take Uber, or to ride in the car of any other Au Pairs, so if our Au pair could not drive she would essentially be “stuck” at the house / limited to
A few mile radius around the house. This is not sustainable for the long term IMO.
