Don’t tell me—you are a nanny employer who pays under the table and doesn’t carry workman’s comp?

I had bad pain the family didn’t help me. I drove to ER by myself and was dizzy.
I told at hospital that I slipped at home didn’t mention at work. Didn’t want any problem for my employer.
Now I am in bed rest for weeks so.
My fault I was agree to get paid cash since it was part time long term job .
The family didn’t ask how I am doing they just Venmo and paid me for that day.
Has anyone experienced that kind of situation?
Any information will be helpful.
If I can get any assistance till I will heal.
Thanks
It doesn’t matter that it was part time and not full time. Being paid cash does not matter. But if they were in VA, As a general rule, a business with more than two employees is required by law to carry workers’ compensation insurance. So they might have no workers comp.
Also this: a homeowner is only liable for a slip and fall accident on his/her property if the homeowner was negligent and his/her negligence was a cause of your accident. Simply because you fell on someone’s property does not mean that the homeowner was negligent. You had to have fallen because of some unsafe condition in the property. The liability portion of homeowner’s liability only covers damages for negligence. If, for example, you slipped because you spilled some water on the floor and didn’t wipe it up, the homeowner would not be liable, and his/her insurer would not be required to pay you any money under its liability coverage.
