Wow, these parents are putting a lot on you.
Especially the S/N child who does not sleep very well at night!

I can understand their need to take a break - but this is a situation where a better idea would be to ask a family member or even a close friend to assist.

If the parents will be gone, why do they want everyone at your home??

Anyway since you will be waking up during the night, I would charge your regular, hourly rate for the child who has special needs.
Then add maybe like $75/night for the other child ($75/night is usually a low rate for an overnight, but given that you have the “luxury” of sleeping in your own bed, I am recommending what I would charge.)

If they will be at your home the entire 48 hours, then they should offer you add’l money for food costs.

I would honestly try to negotiate a flat rate for the entire 48 hours.
You say this family is cheap AF, so I am assuming they will not be willing to pay you the amount that they really should pay you.

I would wisely decline.

Thanks! That’s what I previously charged in a former position. If I charged that it would be $250/night. I quoted 150/night which would be 300$ For 2 nights. Side note:one of the boys is special needs and never sleeps through the night. So no telling how much/little sleep I’ll get.

OP I think $150 is well justified given that one of the children is special needs. I would charge that if I was sleeping at their house.
In your case, given that you are staying in the comfort of your own home... I’d probably say it could be reasonable to go down a little ($125) but then again your rate is your rate and you should charge what you are worth and if they dont want to pay you they can always stay home and cancel their plans and take care of their own darn children overnight!

If she’s the nanny they’ve had, it would be less exhausting than it would be for someone coming in just for this event. Special needs kids are usually better than NT kids at sticking to routines, so as long as the adults stick to the routines, it can work well.
