Under which category?
NP here. Nanny’s are under childcare here with daycare workers. I have my vaccine scheduled for 3/3 in Los Angeles.
You are NOT eligible in Los Angeles and the only way you got that appt was by clicking you are a healthcare worker or 65+. Maybe through a Kaiser loophole, but if you are scheduled through LAFD or LA county, you are a garbage human taking a spot from someone eligible. The LA county public health site isn’t even at teachers yet!! You need to wait your turn.
Wow... who's the garbage human? Long Beach (like pasadena) runs it's own vaccine program for those who LIVE and WORK there - and lists NANNIES under childcare specifically.
Nice try, you said Los angleles not Pasadena. Just remember who you’re stepping over when you get that vaccine.

It seems like a nanny would fall into that category. Has anyone been able to find any additional descriptions or advice?
Yes. At least I hope so. Nannies are considered in this category in California and a number of other states.
Not all counties in California have said nannies will fall under childcare. Some like, LA, only consider those in a childcare facility (like daycare) essential for the vaccine under tier 1b1. But local nannies are trying to help with that. We have been on the phone and emailing the county, mayor and public health departments for days now. It looks like LA just forgot about the domestic help.
Also according to them it’s where you work (in LA) not where you live.
This is also, just for LA county. Pasadena, BH, etc have their own take.
It’s going to be a mess.
If you are in California, I’d suggest contacting your local public health department to see if they actually mean nannies when they say childcare.
While California deemed them essential for those who worked for essential parents it may not hold water for the vaccine.
Where did you read that? Mayor Garcetti made nannies essential workers and we do childcare. Where have you read that Nannies are excluded? I haven’t seen that anywhere and I’ve been looking.
