NP here. I would fire any nanny who refused.

Not true. It depends on where you live. Here in Los Angeles the mayor made nannies essential workers so I didn’t get to sit home in my pajamas and collect the dole, so I’ll be right up there front of the line getting my shot.
Nannies are essential. But our exposure rates are much lower than other (group) childcare workers.

I’m a nanny and no I won’t take it. I would let you fire me because I want to work for smart people.

Unless, you made this innoculation a condition of employment, you cannot force her to do so. Fire her for this and she can sue you.
Not true.

Anonymous wrote:If the vaccine only keeps you from getting as ill as you would otherwise but doesn't stop the spread, then how can you be forced to take it? No one makes you take the pneumonia vaccine for example.

No. Nannies will be vaccinated with teachers.
Nonsense. Teachers have many, many students and nannies have only a couple of kids. They should be vaccinated as others in their age group.
Again, the vaccine will not stop you from spreading covid. It will stop the person vaccinated from getting sick from covid. Nannies are as essential as daycare teachers to the work force. My guess is that nannies and daycare teachers will be vaccinated at the same time.
