Nannies are essential. But our exposure rates are much lower than other (group) childcare workers.

True but some of us work for two parents who are in medical fields or otherwise unable to work from home and essential to society.

Agreed. Federal government just weighed in and employers can require it as a condition of employment. I don’t think these plans split hair enough to distinguish among types of childcare workers, but the couple I’ve reviewed say childcare workers will get priority. I hope it includes nannies as my nanny wants to get it ASAP. I don’t blame her! I do too but am young with no underlying conditions or any essential job.

Again, the vaccine will not stop you from spreading covid. It will stop the person vaccinated from getting sick from covid. Nannies are as essential as daycare teachers to the work force. My guess is that nannies and daycare teachers will be vaccinated at the same time.

I doubt it. Nannies don’t have high exposure like daycare workers and teachers.
