Then the parents can attend to their own kid (the one that is "fine.") I'm a mother of 4 and have attended weddings with my young kids without help. A nanny for each kid is a MASSIVE luxury. Either you can afford it, and you pay the nanny an appropriate rate-or you can't, and you don't waste the nanny's time.

$50 an hour is crazy. There are plenty of Nannies and sitters who would work for a lot less than that on NYE

Not every parent needs to take the bargain sitter route.

50/hr for 2 toddlers /babies on New Years Eve?? You betcha.

But you need only one sitter. If you insist on 2 you can probably get away with 25/hr each plus lots of good takeout. Let the sitters choose their own takeout.

I have to agree that on NYE, expect to pay your child’s babysitter a much prettier penny since it is a major “going out” night.

Leave your kids at home and have a relative stay with them or you go to wedding and your DH stay with kids.

WHy are you getting two sitters?

I make $50/hr on new years eve. Just a warning because they may accept now, realize they can make 4x that and cancel on you last minute for a position that is paying premium rates for the holiday.

A friend of mine couldn't find a sitter last year for $30/hr and cancelled her plans

I'm going to echo the why do you need two nannies?

Do you actually need two? Or did they ask to do it together?

If they asked to do it together, then you can pay less because that's kind of weird.

If you asked for two nannies, you have to pay them each. I would say at least $35 an hour for 24 hrs - about $840. Normally, I would pay at least $50 an hour for NYE, but since it is a full 24 hours, I don't think you have to pay that much for all of the hours.

Ask though as they may have a set rate already.

Normal pay for NYE in this area is 50 per hour.
