Executive orders like these restrict operations of businesses considered non-essential and very small gatherings (2-10, depending on the location) people. Employers who force non-essential employees to work may be subjected to civil penalties. Domestic workers, including nannies and housecleaners who are not providing essential care or services are not considered essential workers and must stay home.
We consider that:
Domestic workers who provide elder care and home health care are considered “essential workers.”
Domestic workers may be designated as “essential workers” if they provide child care services to employers who are considered “essential workers.”
Childcare services refer to services at home-based spaces or private businesses where essential workers drop children off.
Nannies are employees and not a business.

Then that's pretty much it. Nannies you can continue to go to work without fear of being fined. You are providing an essential service.Anonymous wrote:II b iii caring for others as needed

? I wasn't the first poster I was simply saying that the edict implies that the nanny's employer needs to be considered an essential service. Of course your nanny is important and essential. Frankly a lot of this is not very clear right now since we are being told two different things- that childcare is essential or only if you work for an "essential service" provider. I'm as confused as you are but no need to be snarky.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:With all due respect that refers to you not your nanny.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anecdotal but the advice in CA was the childcare (including nannies) is only essential for essential employees. And "essential" does not mean "important."
Our nanny is both essential and important. Don’t be a jerk.
And you’re still being s jerk.
