I bet her husband's pissed at the money she's going to have to spend on an agency. and not only does she not have anybody on Thursday but she's got to spend time she doesn't have finding someone else SMH. P this is what happens when you forget your Nanny is a person

I also let her know she better not mess with my final pay check and I expected it on Friday in my account as usual and I hung up.
I don't even know what to do with myself. It has been so long since I have had this free time. I can go to the gym, cafe, take a nap in the middle of the day. I am always go, go, go. I can always study of course. I am really enjoying this!!

That's not arrogant. That is expecting you to show up for the job she hired you for. Any professional job/company would not just agree to every day and you need to act like a professional.
Any professional company would not approve a request and then rescind it and expect employee to show up anyway unless it was a true emergency. Deciding MB was too busy after all with her own errands is not an emergency, it's just disrespectful.

Yes! I am proud of you! She was 100% in the wrong here and clearly has no regard for you as an employee.
And I agree that more nannies need to stand up to selfish, thoughtless employers. In the past, I know I put up with way too much because I loved my charge.

You are dead wrong, PP. The employer gave this employee this time off on her own accord and then rescinded it a week before the date promised. I am an employer, not a nanny, and owner of a small company - and would never do this to any of my employees including our nanny. It would not be professional for me to do such a thing. You have to respect your employees lives outside the work place.
