I don’t know what you do with your kids. My charges usually bathe at least twice with me daily, but soap is limited to only one. Plain water won’t hurt them.

We dig in the dirt and make mud pies/wallows, jump in filthy puddles, play in the sprinklers (and mud) and snow (and mud/dead leaves), etc. We do messy science experiments, cooking and food experiments, painting, bath crayons, water play with colored water, etc. Add in the mess from normal things like awful messy diapers and food all over kids while learning to feed themselves, and bathing is necessary.

It’s easier to warm up a child in a warm bath while cleaning them with plain water. And plain water is better for their skin/hair than the pool, so I’m curious about whether you allow your kids to swim in either chlorine or salt water?

It could be cultural. I’m not American and I shower 2-3x a day. My shower does not include washing my hair.

I washed my babies bum after every poo. Sometimes in the sink which my husband hated. And sometimes in the tub. PHe never had a rash and was always fresh.

Bathing the kids 3 times a day is too much. I wouldn't like that. One time a day would be fine with me.

I used to sponge bathe my charges in the morning and full bath in the evening before parents got home. After big poop or waking up from nap, I rinse the bottom. Not a cultural thing, I am just a hygienic person and wanted to keep them fresh as well. They had few diaper rush as well and I am sure it's due to me not being there on weekends.

Are they allowed to change diapers? Can they feed them?

Part of my bonding with my daughters when they were babies was giving them a bath when I got home from work. Babies do not need more than one bath per day. So yes, the nanny was not to bathe them.

You cannot bond in other ways?
