Additionally, our nanny actually likes this arrangement because it gives her the opportunity to be with school aged kids in the summer and breaks up the year a bit. I do pay all the school break days and snow days, though.

I am a teacher who has a nanny FT during the school year. We don’t require any care over the summer and our nanny picks up a job (usually by me talking her up on our neighborhood fb page) with someone who only needs a nanny during the summer. It has never been a problem. I think the harder part of your scenario is finding someone who also wants PT in the summer. Perhaps you need a school year nanny and a separate college student part-time in the summer.

OP, it seems like you've never hired a nanny before. Let me fill you in-- the answer to your question is yes, you *may* be able to find a nanny who wants the same schedule you do. Unfortunately, it will be very difficult to find that person with whom you click, loves your child, does things the way you like them, etc, and also wants that same weird schedule. No single nanny would be able to swing it, but perhaps a married nanny whose spouse works and they're comfortable financially, and she wants some extra time off in the summer? Sure, it could happen.
Every nanny is different, and each one wants a different schedule. Sure, the standard is $X per hour, 45+ hours a week, etc. But that doesn't mean you can't possibly find someone who wants to deviate from those standards. Good luck!
