I think you should talk to her about how to deal with the baby when she goes to the bathroom,
Ask her nicely what to do, like you want her to bring the baby to the bathroom or near the bathroom, or put her here or there....
I do whatever my bosses want me to do, this job now wanted me to lock him in the playroom where the bathroom is (he’s 2) so he can’t run around the house

I was thinking e cigarettes right away, or phone, but phone seems a bit odd once an hour for 5 min?!?! I check my phone during play time because my bosses text me a lot

No anxiety. I just do my job. I have the monitor on all the time the baby is sleeping while I eat lunch, make his food, do his laundry, etc. I’m simply a good nanny.

She’s an older woman (not some young girl who needs to check Instagram incessantly) who went twice during an interview; she’s not checking her phone. I suspect IBS. Nanny Larla, I’ve noticed that you use the restroom often and I am curious as to how you plan to tend to the children during that time. Better yet, tell her how you would like her to tend to the children during that time. If you do not have a solution for her, then I guess you have to let her go and hope that you are never in a situation that you are fired for a minor medical issue.

May have UTI issues. When have had uti’s ive has to immediately go when feeling the urge. I wore bladder pads/ depends... took a few minutes to both clean up with wipes and to change the pads/wrap them in a discrete way that would not smell. I’d ask that she put baby in a crib or playpen while in the bathroom though.

I have IBS. On my bad days, when I have really bad flares, it’s more like 30 minutes for each trip. But infants and toddlers come with me, and girls of all ages can come/go. Never called out due to it, never had an employer complaint either. They know their kids are safe and cared for, but I think the difference is that I disclose the condition and the way I handle it when they get my references, and I know it’s something my references talk to everyone about.

5 minutes sounds more like incompletely emptying the bladder, and needing to go back over and over.

Yes, it happened both days, however it also happened when we interviewed her. She went to the bathroom when she arrived at our house and then before she left about 40 mins later. I didn’t think much of that.

Also, she is in her late 40s so doubt it’s period related.
