So you can’t eat anything from their house and you can’t bring your own food because you're not allowed to safely store it. What ate you supposed to do? Starve?
Speak up and say you need a little space in fridge to keep your meal of the day. This is totally bat sh%t

I don't think you know what either of these words mean, do you?

This is bizarre. I always offer coffee and anything else that looks good that's in our fridge or pantry. I want the person taking care of my child to be happy and not distracted by a rumbling stomach. How strange not to even let you refrigerate your own food that you bring. I agree with the others, time for a new employer who actually respects you.

MB here. It makes it even worse that you are doing meal prep for them. Please quit as soon as you can.

Are the parents germaphobes or control freaks in other ways? They should supply a minifridge for you if they have this preference.

I'm Curious- if they are gone all day, how did they know you were putting your lunchbox in the fridge?
That is totally weird.
I'm an employer, and am completely in the - your welcome to anything in the fridge- camp.

This one defies all logic OP.

It is very inconsiderate + just plain rude to tell you that their refrigerator is off-limits.

Like another poster brought up, do you think they simply see you as “the hired help” & do not want you near any of their food/drink?

In all honesty - I likely would issue them my walking papers ASAP.

Good luck to you.

OMG op please find a new job! Even my husband's middle eastern family treat's the nanny better than this! No self respecting person would work for this family. Find a new job ASAP! These people are selfish freaks!

Seriously. I told our nanny to eat anything she wanted in the house, and to add whatever she wanted to eat to the grocery list. She has her own bin in the fridge to keep any food she buys in (so we know it's hers and none of us poach it). I can't even imagine the mindset that makes you think it's okay to restrict usage of your fridge from the person you're entrusting your children to. Bizarre.

Odd and not welcoming. I'm not a nanny but I'd leave.
Our nanny was welcome to anything she wanted. She cooked for dd and ate some of it or her own leftovers. I bought extra fruit and special bread for her from the farmers market because she liked It and didnt have something like that closer to her house.

That's bizarre. Do they have any other weird rules? You should ask them why, but I don't know if you feel comfortable asking.
