In CA where I reside, you can watch as many kids as you want, only if they are all in the same family.

At least that was the rule last time I checked.

Disagree, this is a classic example of someone trying out an in-home daycare and realizing that nannying and running a daycare are very, very different.

This is a daycare. Write out your rules. Hand them to the parents, along with a contract to sign, payment rate and schedule, and drop off/pick up schedule and early/late fees. Make them understand that if they want daycare that is flexible to them, they will pay for it. If not, they need to find a center or employ a nanny in their home.

Not at all. I was in the same situation two years ago. No nanny cameras no people watching just me and the baby. EASY MONEY. I quit the job (after almost 1 year and half) because the mom wants me to do Russian exercise for her son. Go to YouTube and find out yourself what is Russian exercise for baby.

Again trust me OP will continue working for this family.

It’s not just her and the baby. She has her own children so it is more like a nannyshare.

It depends on what state you live. I know that in Maryland you absolutely do need a license if it’s more than 20 hours a month. Ops situation sounds like the worst of both worlds. She is a daycare with only one child, so she can’t make more money, is going by somebody else’s policies rather than her own ( in her own home ) and seems to have zero authority . She has a nanny family that doesn’t pay her for vacations, drop off and pick up whenever they feel like it and treat her poorly.

So sorry OP for having such inconsiderate, rude bosses.

The main dealbreaker here is that they told you one thing regarding your pay, however they have not held up to their word.

This clearly demonstrates that they are not only liars, but that they are taking full advantage of you which would make me want to stop working for them.

My suggestion:
Quit.
