I understand needing time to do things without kids present, but a whole week? It’s the holidays, as well. That would drive me crazy. My nanny family always tells me not to come in when they’re both going to be there. Three adults hanging around all week with the kids seems excessive. Unless there’s, like, 10 kids. Are there ten kids?

My bosses aren’t lazy and actually like spending time off with their kids, so anytime they are off, I am off. Parents who lounge around while the nanny watches the kids are rarely good employers and I don’t work for lazy parents. Been at my job for almost 10 years and never work when the parents are home.

I agree you are there to work and you shouldn't be upset that the parents are home and doing whatever they want. They are paying for a service that you provide and you shouldn't judge them.

Maybe you're feeling that way because they don't spend enough time with their children, which is understandable.

Let it go or you'll be a very unhappy nanny. Accept it and move on

Nanny.

Yeah, I’ve never had that week off...
