Medicaid and Obamacare subsidies are very, very different. As long as you only apply for Medicaid (not food/cash assistance or anything else), some states don’t require that you even meet with your case worker in person, and you can legally make up to the poverty line (if I remember correctly). The subsidy for Obamacare was actually a misnomer. It was more accurately a loan, and it decreased over time, with penalties gradually increasing. I’m not sure what the cut off was, but I do know that it factored in housing costs, all income and number/age of dependents.

At $26 an hour, I didn’t even qualify for a subsidy under Obamacare!! How much do you think full time nannies earn?!
She's probably thinking of the broken-English babysitters who get $16/hr.

At $26 an hour, I didn’t even qualify for a subsidy under Obamacare!! How much do you think full time nannies earn?!
Why would you when you make over $50K a year? Most small business or single employers do not provide due to cost.
