Good morning,

Big quarrel - and I want to stop working as like now!

She said I need to give them 2 or 1 months notice. This is crazy because in 2 months anything can happened and I worry they will put the blame on me i.e child gets injured.

Thank you

Did they calm down?

What’s this part about a child gets injured and you get blamed? wTF. Yeah if you’re the nanny and the child gets injured and you are the only caretaker around you do share a large part of the blame.

Note to (respectful and responsible) employers: Hire a qualified, professional nanny, not some kid that doesn’t know how to handle the responsibilities of life.

45 days notice has been in our contract for the last 6 years. 2 weeks might work. Of course, if you're going nuclear they won't want you in their house anyhow. Way to throw a fit on the first week of school!

Why are your arguing with your boss? Isn't there a better way to communicate your point or needs than arguing with your boss? Makes you look irrational and unprofessional. and illogical.

45 days!?! I agree with you on everything else.

OK you gave 2 weeks notice. Just stick to that and stay civil. Don't putz on your phone looking for new jobs while caring for the child.

MB apologized and told she found my replacement ( a daycare). I gave her two weeks notice. She said she need one month notice. Reason:- Need more time to check other daycare.

Thank you all.

Are you going to stay for the month? Will you tell us what happened?

WAIT A MINUTE. She wants you to give her time but she's willing to cut you in a heartbeat? Quit today.

You can quit however you want. If you are quitting because of an argument she is never giving you a good reference anyway.

You can quit with two seconds notice. Slavery is illegal in this country.

Don’t just quit, OP. Find another job and leave on good terms while keeping a good reference. Help your charge adjust.

Too bad what she needs. Two weeks is sufficient. You owe nothing to MB or her children if she has made your life miserable on the job. Never stay in a job where you are unhappy for any reason.

You just want to be nosy

It’s anonymous. If you’re asking advice about quitting without notice, how can one possibly justify that?
