14 hour days is too long. Say no.

I don’t know, I might be tempted to tough it out for a couple weeks for that payoff.

I can do all 14 hours maybe once or twice a week but not for two weeks straight. I would lose my mind!

I’m right there with you. It would be tempting because of the money, like I said, but truthfully sometimes I already lose my mind just working a regular 8 hour day! I don’t blame you for not wanting to.

That's a lot of time, but the OT is also a lot of money! I wouldn't turn that down.

Well, it’s true. If it was adult I was talking about your heart wouldn’t be broken.

I work 10.5 hrs and I am drained at the end of my shift. And I know how it can be working with a difficult child, you don’t want to passed your normal time and it doesn’t mean you love them any less. You providing them with a solution is perfect and I’m sure they will be happy and appreciate you making the effort to help them during this time.

Are you the OP of the other thread, working more than your scheduled shift? The one that got beat up for presumably not paying taxes?

Umm no. I got a nice refund this year!! Yay me!!

It is two weeks, OP, not a big deal. And travel coverage is usually one of the reasons a couple will choose a nanny over daycare. I have done it and will do it again, I'm sure. The money is good and it builds goodwill with your employers.

They’re not paying me OT.

This is inconsistent with your previous post. And nannies are hourly and paid OT over 40 hours. Are you paid legally?

I meant they are. I am paid legally. I am on payroll

Anonymous wrote:Hi there, op here and no that was not me. I saw that post too and I believe the OP would work 8:30-5. I stayed in my post I usually work 8-4. My MB is a SAHM and the other post was a WAHM

I was specifically asking about the above poster that I quoted, not your thread. Sorry for the confusion.

Oops sorry I mean they are but it’s not so much about the money for me.
