In that case, you must also pay.

No, you don't. I think it would be a nice gesture, but just as you don't pay for people's CPR certification or any educational requirements you have for your job, if it's a qualification for employment, they need to provide it before you hire them.

You want someone to have a vaccination as a condition of employment, you pay! dTap is just for your convenience and so is any other vaccination.

You're so right! No adult has ever gotten pertussis or the flu!
So explain to me again why I can make CPR a precondition for the job, but not the vaccines?

You can make anything a condition of employment but if the person you wish to hire doesn't have these qualifications, they you pay for them! You can put in your add for employment that only people who have specific vaccinations and CPR training need apply.

So, if I apply for a job that requires me to have a degree that I don't, it's the hiring company's responsibility to pay for my education?
See how ridiculous that seems PP?

In EVERY OTHER INDUSTRY the onus (and financial burden) is on the applicant to meet the employer's requirements. Only nannies would think otherwise...

Nanny here. If a nanny is not smart enough to already have been vaccinated she is not smart enough to have the responsibility of caring for a child.

Yes, make it a condition of employment and ask for proof. Same with CPR training - ask for proof the nanny passed the course and her certification is up to date.
