Your dh doesn't 'have' to do anything. He should be spending more time with your children if he's not around Monday-Friday. I feel sorry for your children.

New poster and mom here. If your current nanny is doing a good job, and your child seems generally fine with her, I would not worry about his attachment to the former nanny.

Your child can be attached to multiple caregivers and as far as I'm concerned the more love in a child's life the better.

I don't really see any need for concern in what you describe. Also, it's only been a short time and your child is young.

My kids have had 3 nannies in their 6+ years. The first one, who was with them since birth for almost 3 years, is still the one to whom they are the most attached. Their relationship w/ her is unique from the relationships they had with their other nannies - but they love and enjoy all three of them still.

If you don't have concerns about the quality of the care, or your child's overall comfort level, don't worry about different levels/types of relationships.
