I just moved to the area and I have zero friends. I mentioned I like to take my son to the library story times and outdoor playground by the mall. Everything is within 1-2 miles. I really think it's a funds issue. I'm not going to ask about it again for a while. She mentioned that she's short on cash and couldn't get a Christmas tree this year.

Um I live in Miami and my charge never naps. The only person who looks weird is you. I hope you get thearpy soon. You're clearly not happy with yourself.

Maybe you gave her the impression that everywhere you wanted to drive was to hang out with your friends and not the child.

Op here: She does have a car seat but wants to buy another one so we don't have to switch back and forth everyday.

I would just have her switch back and forth every day until she gets a new one. Either it won't be a big deal, or she will get tired of it and get a second car seat.

More likely she hired OP as a temporary stop gap measure until the daycare/preschool of her choice has a slot that opens for her child and is simply waiting to fire OP.

Could be. Again: Op is naive.
or perhaps I'm not as dramatic as you.

Op here: I don't think so because I asked. She can't afford preschool and a nanny. I think she wants to build trust first. I will bring it up in a few weeks. I will probably quit over this issue. My husband makes plenty of money and this is kind of like a hobby job for me. I'm so happy he has a playmate now. It's been great.

You can get a $40-80 car seat. Not that expensive.
