+1. I add my nanny's bonus to her paycheck. If you pay on the books normally, you should consider paying the bonus on the books too.
Ugh, I'm a tax lawyer and I pay my nanny's bonus in cash.

Why are 20s an inconvenience? 100s are a much bigger inconvenience.
Now if you tried to give me a bonus in pennies, THAT would be an inconvenience...

Um, ‘kay. Writing the amount on the envelope doesn’t preclude nanny from counting if she wants, but does address OP’s concern that all $20s would be an inconvenience. It gives an out. Your personal practices aren’t really relevant here, but congratulations, I guess?
